It’s not often we have time to escape the confines of Milton Keynes to get out and about, but an invitation to P&MM’s proposal writing team to see the recently renovated Savoy Hotel was all the excuse we needed to make an afternoon of it in London.

Whose idea was it to shut the Victoria line down on one of the biggest football weekends in London?

Like digging up major roads during rush hour or non-working pensioners taking the early morning appointments at doctor surgeries, shutting one of the most reliable tube lines on the weekend of a massive football match between two of London’s biggest clubs at the national stadium in the capital makes no sense whatsoever.

Is the O2 now one of the top three venues in the world?

This week I have spent two nights at the iconic venue and enjoyed them equally as much. Tuesday evening I was about ten rows back from the stage for the Killers and loved it. Last night I was in the Inc Group’s hospitality box for the NME Big Gig where I was lucky enough to see The Cure. However, such is the venue’s layout, sound system and general user ease I had a fantastic night both times.
