If you haven’t you must be one of the few in the industry that hasn’t. I spent the morning at the Events 2012 and Beyond conference before visiting the main show floor during lunchtime. I must confess that I expected it to be quite empty, what with the credit crunch and the current economic situation. I know you are probably thinking that this high level of footfall was only due to the lunchtime rush, but it remained at the same busy level until at least 5.30pm.
Big round of applause for what I thought was a superb Brit Awards, big bold event production delivered by the team at the Brit Academy and MJK Productions; a great outfit who have helped bring our industry to the heights that it is today, they really do give me something to aspire too.
With a live line-up that included U2 and Kings of Leon, both of whom I have experienced amazing live shows from, I found myself admitting that Gary, Jason, Mark and Howard were the best live act. Thankfully my thoughts were backed up by a collection of the exhibition world’s top movers and shakers, Jane Risby-Rose, Alastair Gornall, Nigel Nathan and Simon Kimble, who all threw a few shapes around the table as the boys performed.
